Camp on the Beach During Indian Summer & Fall Bazaar!

If you missed out on beach camping last year at Indian Summer music fest, don't miss out on your opportunity this year! Camping tickets go on sale today, Friday, September 9th, at noon on Eventbrite

"When else can you camp on the Asbury Park beach overnight!?" said Joe Chyb, Co-Founder and Organizer of Indian Summer. "Indian Summer is a celebration of local summer and a chance for everyone in town to enjoy all that we offer to the throngs of guests we host all summer. So to be able to enjoy a nice, wide open beach and fall asleep to the sound of the Atlantic ocean is such a special thing!"

Campers can start setting up their tents on the North Beach, just east of the Sunset Pavilion and north of Convention Hall, 1300 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park on Saturday, September 24th at noon and should make plans to pack up by 10:00 am the following day on Sunday, September 25th. The cost of camping is $125 per tent for up to 4 people. There are no refunds and both camping and the music fest are 21 and up.

Each camp site also includes 4 tickets to attend Indian Summer on Saturday, September 24h on the North Beach at Anchor's Bend and Convention Hall! This year will be even bigger and better with three stages, tons of cool vendors at the Asbury Park Fall Bazaar on Saturday & Sunday and beach camping, bonfire, yoga and brunch.

"On the music side, what we are most proud of is how Indian Summer has grown," said Chyb. "Indian Summer is the product of friends, local businesses, developers, promoters, musicians, artists, craftsmen, and community members and through its growth it has maintained that. We grew in attendance each year and are planning for a massive jump this year with such a tremendous headliner (The Dean Ween Group) and amazing local and regional acts!"

Indian Summer kicks off at The Anchor's Bend beach on Saturday at 1 pm and features performances by headliner The Dean Ween Group, gods, The Cold Seas, Boy Toy, Needle Points, and Lyons. Philadelphia-based Silent Shapes perform with Gringo Motel and Matt Wade Band in the Grand Arcade during the Asbury Park Fall Bazaar from noon - 5 pm. Late-night aficionados will enjoy two after parties at The Overlook with Wreaths, Seaside Caves, and Stained Glass and a Hot Action Dance Party at The Anchor's Bend with DJ Atom Worth and Foggy Notion. "On the camping side, we've added ten more camp sites and made each of the sites larger to accommodate more people/bigger groups per spot," said Chyb. "Last year we sold out of campsites in a couple minutes so the demand is there for sure. But at the same time, we wanted to offer a special experience to our guests so we didn't want to have a ton of people out there."

Campers should also bring some extra spending money for the Fall Bazaar happening inside the Grand Arcade on Saturday and Sunday from noon-5 pm. The first 100 people to walk through the door at noon will also receive a souvenir tote bag to put all your goodies in!

The event showcases local and regional vendors selling an array of local, handmade jewelry and accessories; unique gifts; artwork; socially-conscious goods (local, organic, fair trade, recycled and/or handmade); home goods, from plants to woven rugs and handmade wood furniture; natural candles, soaps, and skin care products for men and women; accessories like scarves, hats and gloves; natural teas, small-batch jams and more.

Campers can also wake up on Sunday to enjoy Beach Yoga Brunch with Amanda Feinstein of Younique Yoga. Bring water and your yoga mat for a 9:30-10:30 am all-level class followed by a beach brunch at The Anchor's Bend and shopping from artisan vendors and shops during the bazaar.

The class is free, but there is a suggested donation of $10 to benefit Clean Water Action, a local non-profit organization that is working to create a Reuse Revolution at Indian Summer through Rethink Disposable, a program that helps reduce one-use disposable items (such as plastic cups and Styrofoam containers) that ends up clogging our our landfills, incinerators and ocean. Brunch is $15 and it includes a delicious and healthy brunch buffet at The Anchor's Bend with your choice of mimosa, Bloody Mary, or juice.
